Here’s how to scan a QR code for your installation form! 

You see them everywhere: QR codes! And with good reason – they’re incredibly handy! In a previous blog post, we wrote about our handy digital installation form. Here, we’ll explain how you can easily scan a QR code to access our installation form!

When installing our trackers, please use our digital installation forms on site (at the installation location). You can find these in our Rental Tracker app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or App Store on your mobile. 

In the app, you can choose between two versions:the compact version and the extended version. Using our digital installation forms, you can quickly and easily keep accurate and reliable installation records that you can refer back to later! The installation app prompts you, step by step, to enter basic information about the installation, which you must complete one by one. Should you forget any necessary information, the app will remind you. 

What makes this app unique is that you also need to upload a photo of the most essential basic details. To make things even easier for you and to prevent errors when entering the IMEI number, all our track & trace products are fitted with QR codes! These QR codes contain the tracker’s IMEI number (registration number). This prevents the tracker from being registered incorrectly in your portal.  

How the QR code works for our online form

  1. Download the free Rental Tracker app from the Google Play Store or App Store
  2. Open the Rental Tracker app
  3. Select: installation form (compact version or extended version) 
  4. Fill in all the details on the installation form, except for the IMEI number 
  5. To scan the IMEI number, tap the scan icon on the right; your device will automatically scan the code and retrieve and record the IMEI number 
  6. Tap the left-hand IMEI icon below to see a photo of the IMEI number 
  7. Next, use the relevant icons to upload photos of the registration number/report code and the location where the tracker is fitted (in the vehicle). 

All this information is automatically sent as a PDF file to your email address and/or to the email addresses of your administrators. Using this information, you can easily locate the vehicle in question at a later date, check who fitted the tracker, when, by whom and where, and whether the tracker is working.
